Saracens Sport Foundation

Saracens Sport Foundation is the charitable arm of Saracens Rugby Club. Active across Hertfordshire and North London, they strive to inspire the community through the values of sport, physical activity and social opportunity, using them as a catalyst for positive change.

From educational school initiatives to their disABILITY sports programme and Over 50s dance classes, they’re a lively, driven and generous bunch looking to get everyone in the community active, regardless of background and ability. Whether on or off the pitch, the Saracens name embodies inclusivity and community.

Saracens Sport Foundation are able to continue their brilliant work thanks to donations of both money and time from generous volunteers and donors. They run fundraising events and rattle change-buckets at matches all to keep the show on the road.

Personally, I’ve been ticked off at matches when the burger stand doesn’t take card. Who carries cash these days? Knowing this and seeing the effect it has on cash donations, Saracens Sport Foundation chose to partner with us at GoodBox, where we aim to provide the charity sector with the same technological firepower seen in the corporate world.

“I went to GoodBox having researched contactless donation options and they gave me options that worked for and were tailored to our charity’s needs. They have supported us every step of the way with advice and even attended our events to support our fundraising efforts, maximising the benefit that contactless donations could add to the day. We had many people throughout the day impressed and pleased that we were able to take their donations so simply through the contactless boxes; they would otherwise not have been able to donate and this encouraged them to give that bit more in support of our cause”

GoodBox enabled Saracens Sport Foundation to take contactless donations which saw huge increases in the overall amount donated. One match alone saw contactless donations pull in £1,196 which meant an ROI of 679%. Another, less-attended match saw an ROI of 441%, meaning it wasn’t just beginners’ luck for Saracens Sport Foundation.

These stats told us and Saracens that there is an audience who want to donate but just don’t have the means to. When there’s an easier, modern solution in place, well, the numbers speak for themselves.

We’re incredibly proud to be able to support Saracens Sport Foundation and the excellent work they do. Contactless giving has opened up a whole new donation stream for them and we’re excited to help replicate these results with other fantastic causes.
