GoodBox is a tech for good company, founded on the insight that a cashless society is having a negative impact on the charity sector. We set out to develop the world’s best fundraising platform. Since then, we’ve raised over a million pounds for charities, and built a platform that ensures that when it comes to technology, charities never have to settle.

We are a diverse bunch. GoodBox is made up of charity founders, fundraising experts, product engineers, software developers & operation specialists.

Andrew O’Brien


Andrew brings over one decade of experience in investment banking to the table from his time at Credit Suisse and Industrial & Commercial Bank of China. Andrew was introduced to FinTech during his time as Managing Director of QixPay, ultimately completing its sale in 2017.

Francesca Hodgson

Managing Director

Prior to founding GoodBox, Francesca worked at BGC Partners LP, a global broking firm where she headed the department responsible for CSR and the annual charity day. Having worked with UK charities for over a decade with a prior role at World Cancer Research Fund, Francesca has a passion for philanthropy and is dedicated to making a difference.

Tibor Barna


Our resident tech wizard has a Master of Computer Science from Oxford University as well as a Master’s of Finance from LSE. Tibor has led technology teams in highly regulated enterprise environments such as UBS Investment Bank and Hilti Corporation. In his start-up career Tibor has won two awards for innovative technology products in the hospitality space.

David White


David brings 18 years of finance experience within start-up and global billion-dollar organisations. He spent 5 years at NES Global Talent where he grew the business to $1b of revenue. Following this, David was at Uniting Ambition, where he played a strategic role in the growth of the company, ultimately completing a management buyout in 2017.

Tanya Parker


Tanya has over 20 years of technical, operational and payments expertise within the retail, hospitality and financial services sectors. Her previous role at a gateway provider has given her a wealth of experience in payment processing. She has a passion for operational excellence and empowering her teams to achieve greatness.

Nick Smith

Director of Global Commercial Sales and Strategic Partnerships

Nick brings 12 years of sales and account management experience in client facing sales to GoodBox. Prior to GoodBox, Nick spent 6 years managing key accounts and teams at Capita Symonds. Following this Nick founded an independent agency focused on strategic real estate acquisitions for high profile clients across Europe.

Claire Purchase

Head of Business Development

Claire joins GoodBox having spent 15 years in consultancy, research and SAAS. She brings a wealth of experience of building highly successful sales and account management teams, and is passionate about technology. Alongside her work in the start-up world, Claire runs a small charity supporting education in Sierra Leone.

Polly Gilbert

Marketing Director

Alongside her role at GoodBox, Polly is the co-founder of non-profit TAP London which explores technology-based solutions to homelessness. Prior to this, Polly worked in marketing and advertising, at Y&R and J. Walter Thompson. A self-trained designer, Polly is passionate about branding and strategic design.

Jenell Rogers

Senior Accounts Manager

Jenell is an experienced account manager with a wealth of skills relating to client interaction. Since coming to GoodBox in late 2018, she has worked to maintain and improve our relationships with current clients.

Cameron Bird

Senior Sales Executive

After graduating from The University of Manchester, Cameron worked as a recruitment consultant before joining the sales team here at GoodBox.

Isabelle Foss

Business Analyst

Isabelle worked at Coutts and the Bronx Defenders after studying at New York University and The London School of Economics. Iszy joined us at GoodBox in 2018, and has been serving the team delicious home-baking ever since!

Miles Safiruddin

Senior Sales Executive

Miles studied International Management with French at the University of Bath, spending his year abroad in Montreal and Paris. After graduating, he took some time off to travel round Australia before joining the GoodBox Sales team in March 2019.

Karena Bahsoon

Marketing & Sales Executive

Karena graduated from university last year having studied International Business Management. Growing up in Sierra Leone, she worked in her family business; producing sustainable and locally sourced food for malnourished children. Involved in the non-profit world from a young age, Karena has a passion for helping those in need.

Joe Geary

Marketing Intern

Originally from the West of Ireland, Joe packed his bags for London having graduated University with an MA in Business Management. He joined the marketing team at GoodBox in April, and has been sprinkling our copywriting with Irish magic ever since.

Tamas Bumbar

Technical Engineer

Tamas graduated from the University of London with a BSc in Business Computing Systems and has been with GoodBox ever since. Besides solving technical issues in hardware and networks, Tamas works to build new innovative solutions alongside our Technical team.

Hayden Rhodes

Technical Project Manager

In 2001, Hayden completed his Master’s in Systems Engineering at Loughborough University. From there he’s participated in a range of engineering disciplines for the likes of BAE Systems, Schlumberger and Xerox. Before joining GoodBox, he was responsible for ensuring service delivery of equity trading platforms for tier 1 banks. Now, Hayden works within our Operations team looking after device setup, ensuring governance and providing technical support where required.

Daniel Toader

Operations Engineer

Daniel met Tibor while studying at the Highschool for Informatics, but then went on to study at the University of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics Technology in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Presently, Daniel works within our Operations team helping the tech team in the configuration of our units and is part of our dedicated support team responding to any customer queries.

Camilla Leigh​

Chair of the Board of Advisors

Currently a founding partner at Philanthropica, Camilla has over 20 years of fundraising management and leadership positions in Europe and North America. In this time, she has personally raised more than $90m. Camilla’s experience ranges from start-up fundraising program development, to assisting growth in seasoned fundraising organisations.

Fraser Handcock

Operations & Payments

Since January 2017, Fraser has been the COO at Charlotte Tilbury – helping to scale Britain’s premier beauty business into a global powerhouse. Responsible for people, supply chain, strategy and operations, and until January 2018 for finance, legal and IT. In Fraser’s time there, the business has doubled its headcount and revenues, and expanded into two new continents.

Bernie Hollywood OBE

Charity & Fundraising Insight

Bernie has worked in the financial sector for the past thirty years, enjoying a successful career developing banking products that have secured thousands of pounds for UK charities. In this time, he has raised over £40 million pounds for UK and overseas charities, achieved through creative corporate partnerships, and the creation of “merchant giving”, a ground breaking micro-donation service which effectively connects business to charities.

Nighat Awan OBE

Charity & Fundraising Insight

Nighat counts four highly successful and diverse companies amongst her business achievements, encompassing fashion, floristry and food. Equally known for her tireless charitable activities, Nighat is a true champion of diversity, with hands on experience not only within business but assisting and mentoring young people, women and disadvantaged groups.

Alicia Jelinek


Since July 2018, Alicia has worked in the APAC HQ finance team of Stryker, a Fortune 500 medical device manufacturer in Singapore. Alicia has a further 9 years of commercial finance experience, working across a range of companies within the Telecoms, Media & Publishing, Tech and Med Tech sectors. During her career, Alicia has supported businesses to achieve key commercial milestones, launch new ventures, products & services and secure Series A investment.

Sir Bernard Silverman FRS

Data & Statistics

Sir Bernard Silverman is a statistician whose research has ranged widely across theoretical and practical aspects of statistics. Bernard studied Mathematics and Statistics at Cambridge University, going on to senior academic and leadership posts at the Universities of Bath, Bristol and Oxford. From 2010 to 2017, Bernard was the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Home Office, where his role was to advise on all aspects of policy and operations; lead research & science within the Home Office; and build relationships internationally.

Thomas Vogt-Skard

Funding & Government Connections

Thomas is an experienced corporate finance, M&A, strategy professional and NED with particular depth of experience within the public sector, infrastructure, energy/new energy, financial technology, payments and financial services. He has extensive experience in successfully advising clients and leading transactions including buy-side and sell-side M&A, fundraising (public and private) and has a particular depth of experience in the UK public to private sector commercial interface, including complex public sector (OJEU) procurement and writing public sector business cases.

David Stevens


David is Group Head of Infrastructure for the London Stock Exchange Group, and has over 20 years experience building and running enterprise scale IT solutions. Following leadership roles with Vodafone, Barclays & Credit Suisse, David was most recently Chief Operations Officer for Group Technology at Worldpay, the world’s largest payments company, including during its IPO to the FTSE50 in 2015 and subsequent trade sale.

John Lazar CBE FREng

Emerging Technologies

John is a software engineer and business leader with a strong focus on combining technology and entrepreneurship to try and generate lasting positive impact. John joined Metaswitch in 1987 as a software engineer, and worked across design, engineering, product, strategy and revenue generation, culminating in his appointment as CEO and Chairman, a role he stood down from in 2016. John is also an angel investor and start-up mentor.

Roy Martins

Emerging Technologies

Roy is an executive partner and Head of Business Development at Exos Financial, the first fully cloud-based technology-enabled broker-dealer which is due to launch soon. Prior to that, he held senior management positions at Morgan Stanley (1995-2007), Credit Suisse (2007-2014) and Bank of America Merrill Lynch (2014-2018), building their equity financing/hedge fund business into market-leading offerings. He was named in the Financial News Top 10 Most Influential People in Hedge Funds in 2010.

Alexsis de Raadt St James

Operations & Finance

Alexsis is a business executive and investment professional with diverse experience in operations, corporate finance, private equity, venture capital and technology. Alexsis is a frequent speaker and author on business, investing and the role of women in entrepreneurship and technology. She is the founder and managing partner of Merian Ventures, a US and UK venture capital firm.  Merian Ventures funds female founders and co-founders in blockchain, cyber, AI, ML and consumer-facing technologies.
