Earlier this year, the Diocese of Ely announced their plan to offer every church in the Diocese a card reader terminal, free of charge. We are delighted to be their technology partner of choice. Here, we will tell you everything you need to know about the initiative and our technology.
The Diocesan offer is to cover the purchase price of our GBx Mini device, at £115 plus VAT and delivery charge.
Our GBx Mini is a versatile hand-held device which accepts contactless donations up to the value of £30, and Chip & Pin payments. The GBx Mini can run on its own 3G signal, or it can be connected to your WiFi. Plus, the device accepts contactless donations offline, so poor signal isn’t a problem. Note that for payments above £30, you will need signal to process the payment successfully.
Please note that if you would prefer to use a different device of ours, you can put the £115 towards it as a credit.
We charge a one-off £25 + VAT sign-up fee which covers the administrative effort of signing up a new charity to our platform.
In addition to this, as with any payment, there is a transaction fee attached to every transaction made through your device. This is 2.5%+10p per transaction.
Finally, we operate using a membership structure. If you want the ‘Lite’ option, there are no monthly charges, however if you would like added support, the ‘Premium’ membership is £25 per month. You can review their full pricing document along with accessories here.
There are two forms you’ll need to complete to get started with GoodBox.
The first is a product order form. Here you’ll let us know if you would like any accessories to go with your GBx Mini, and share delivery details.
Second is the Merchant Application Form (MAF), this is incredibly important, as it allows us to safely and securely connect your organisation’s bank account to our payment systems. If you need guidance while completing the MAF, you can find a useful guide here.
