Pitch@Palace 10.0 Finals

After a competitive application process, GoodBox were thrilled to be invited to pitch in the finals of Pitch@Palace 10.0.

Pitch@Palace is a entrepreneurial initiative, whereby some of the world’s best start-ups pitch their business in front of a personally selected audience. The initiative was launched by The Duke of York in 2014, and aims to make connections between entrepreneurs and influencers and investors. Since the initiative launched, nearly 50,000 entrepreneurs have applied to pitch at over 100 events, and there are 687 Pitch@Palace alumni, who have created more than £800 million of economic activity, and created 3,000 jobs.

This year was the tenth anniversary of the event, and to mark the occasion, was held in none other than Buckingham Palace, where our COO, Francesca took to the stage to deliver a three minute pitch. Biased though we may be; it was absolutely brilliant. Francesca clearly conveyed the urgency of the GoodBox mission – to provide charities with the tools they need in order to succeed in an ever-changing digital society. She told the audience about our successes with existing clients, and our vision for the future. Watching on from GoodBox HQ (popcorn in hand), the team were all proud as punch.

Whilst it’s widely commented on that 90% of start-ups fail, an amazing 96.5% of businesses who take part in Pitch@Palace are thriving and growing.

The winners were announced at the end of the evening, with BioSure winning the top prize. BioSure create an HIV test kit that is significantly cheaper, quicker and more discreet than existing kits, and can be self-administered. A brilliant product, and worthy win.

Whilst GoodBox didn’t take home gold, we were honoured to be a part of such a prestigious event, and privileged to be a Pitch@Palace alumni.
