GBx Core Launch

The 31st of January marked a huge step forward to achieving GoodBox’s vision of a better world, where all charities and causes benefit from cutting edge tech. GoodBox has officially released the GBx Core, the most advanced contactless payment device around, taking charitable fundraising to a new level.

GBx Core used for contactless donation

Over 50 investors, friends and family, and partners joined us at our launch event which, as Seedrs alumni – was kindly hosted in their office (thanks, Tessa!). We were so pleased to see so many people there who have helped us along the way. Our senior team, along with Lewis from the Natural History Museum and our product design team V2 talked about the manufacturing process, our sales pipeline, and the impact we’ve had so far. We live streamed the whole thing, so if you fancy watching it, you can do so here. All monies raised through the GBx Core’s at the event went to our partner TAP London and their campaign with the Mayor of London.

Building our own hardware and software has been a tough but rewarding journey for us. A year ago, our founders pitched at Seedrs with a cobbled together contactless unit, and a big dream (in fact, the unit turned off halfway through the presentation!). So to say we’ve come a long way is an understatement. With a crisp 5.5 inch display and software that allows for fantastic personalisation and on the fly updates, the GBx Core is the key to finally eliminating the charity sector’s lag behind the corporate sector in digital skills. It is eye catching, user friendly, and there is something about it that just makes you want to donate (trust us, you’ll see). Plus, the device only currently uses 17% of its potential CPU power, allowing it to be a vessel for software updates that will improve and future proof the device.

So, here it is. The GBx Core; our showpiece.
