GoodBox Spotlighted in Innovation in Finance Series

We are delighted to announce that GoodBox has been included in a series of films created by BBC StoryWorks for Innovate Finance, celebrating transformative ideas and innovations which are shaping the future of the global financial sector.

Using the production expertise of the BBC, these films place the individuals that benefit from new technology at the heart of each story, thereby simplifying and humanising even the most complex of innovations.

Our film explores the impact of new payment technologies on a third sector threatened by an increasingly cashless society. The GoodBox story is introduced by our Co-founder Francesca, but brought to life through the eyes of two of our charity partners, and most importantly – the individuals supported by those charities.

“It is an honour to be recognised amongst so many other game-changers in the FinTech space, and to be featured in this exciting Innovate Finance series. In particular, I am delighted to see our charity partners and the individuals they support take centre stage. We build technology to make the world a better place, so it’s a joy to see how families like Hayley & Tommy’s are benefiting from funds raised through GoodBox hardware. As Francesca says in the film, it’s a real proud moment for all of us. We hope you enjoy the film.”

Andrew O’Brien, GoodBox Founder

At their home in Birmingham, the film introduces us to mother and son Hayley and Tommy. Having been diagnosed with a muscle-wasting condition as a child, Tommy and Hayley face the life-changing impact 0f the disease with positivity, supported every step of the way by Muscular Dystrophy UK. We meet TAP London, a Mayor of London supported fundraising initiative using contactless technology to transform the way people engage with homelessness, and visit the charities they fundraise for to see how these donations are impacting underfunded but brilliant homeless charities such as Homeless Action in Barnet.

We are honoured to be featured in this important series, placing the causes we support at the heart of our work. We hope you enjoy watching the film as much as we enjoyed making it.
